Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the Tony’s Muscle Cars FAQ! Here, you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our classic car restoration services, custom builds, and Pro Touring modifications. Whether you’re curious about our process or wondering how to get started, we’ve got you covered.
1. What types of cars do you restore?
At Tony’s Muscle Cars, we specialize in restoring classic American muscle cars from the 1960s and 1970s, including models like the Chevrolet Chevelle, Camaro, Pontiac GTO, and more. However, we also work on a wide variety of vintage and custom vehicles.
2. Do you offer full and partial restorations?
Yes, we provide both full and partial restorations based on your needs. Whether you need a complete frame-off restoration or specific services like engine compartment detailing, interior restoration, or bodywork, we’ve got you covered.
3. How long does a full car restoration take?
The timeline for a full restoration varies depending on the complexity of the project and the availability of parts. Typically, a complete restoration can take anywhere from 6 months to over a year. We’ll work with you to set realistic expectations and keep you updated throughout the process.
4. What is a rotisserie restoration?
A rotisserie restoration involves removing the body from the chassis and placing it on a rotisserie-like device. This allows us to access every part of the car for detailed restoration, including the underbody. It’s the most thorough method of restoring a vehicle to like-new condition.
5. Can I choose custom modifications for my car?
Absolutely! We offer custom build options, including Pro Touring and Resto Mods. From upgrading your engine to installing custom wheels, suspension, air conditioning, and electronics, we can tailor your car to fit your vision and performance goals.
6. What engines do you recommend for Pro Touring builds?
For Pro Touring builds, we often use LS-based fuel-injected engines such as the LS1, LS2, and LS3. These engines provide excellent performance, reliability, and drivability for modernizing classic muscle cars. We can pair them with a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission or an automatic overdrive, depending on your preference.
7. Do you offer warranties on restorations and parts?
Yes, we provide warranties on specific parts and services. For example, our LS engines and Tremec transmissions come with warranties from the manufacturer. We’ll discuss warranty details with you before starting your restoration project.
8. Can I visit your shop to check on the progress of my car?
Of course! We welcome our customers to visit the shop and see the progress of their restoration in person. We’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you’re always in the loop.
9. What are your payment options?
We work on a time and materials basis, which means you only pay for the hours worked and the materials used. Parts and materials are charged at actual discounted costs with no markups. We offer flexible payment plans and accept various payment methods.
